Kuala Lumpur is located in the centre of the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, where the Klang and Gombak Rivers converge. The closest beach is about 35 km away. Kuala Lumpur is easily the largest city in the whole country, with a population exceeding five million when combined with the nearby urban areas of Selangor state that is collectively called the ‘Klang Valley’.
Those who travel by airplane will first arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, which is about 45 km away from the city. From the airport, you can take a cab or ride the KLIA Express train to Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) railway hub which will take between 30-40 minutes.
A cab can take you directly to the KL Plaza Suites, but those who come by train to KL Sentral can choose to take the Monorail, an elevated train line, directly from the station to Bukit Bintang. Exit at the stop for Bukit Bintang and it is only a matter of a few minutes to reach the lobby of KL Plaza Suites.
