Design: Modern Contemporary
The twin-towered building does exude a sophisticated aura, from the design of its façade to the corporate feel of its interior. Entering the lobby, one is greeted with a sense of vastness; space seems to be a key element as the ceiling is about 3-storeys high and crowned with a beautiful lit chandelier. Marble features heavily in the surroundings with a few sculptures and crafted wood panels in the mix.
Service: Rated Excellent
What really strikes you is the excellent service of the staff. Reception was impressive; the staff put in much effort to welcome you, by offering drinks, papers and sweets before checking-in. Check-in was also breezy and done on a personal basis. Although I was carrying only a small notebook bag and a camera, the concierge requested that their bellboy carry these little parcels for me to my room.
Now, most hotel staff will not bat an eyelid if you’re barely carrying anything and don’t look like an old man with tuberculosis, but Prince’s staff were willing to go the extra mile and accompany me up with just my little notebook and camera. The bellboy also deposited my stuff deep into the room instead of chucking it at the door, did a quick check and then wished me well on my stay before disembarking.
Room: Everything Looks New
The Deluxe room isn’t very spacious, but it’s easy to see why once you realise that the massive bed takes up most of the floor space. The bed wasn’t too soft or hard but provided a nice balance of support with comfort, and three full-grown men could probably sleep well on it at the same time. A glimpse into the bathroom will also explain where most of the space went to; it’s got nice marble for the sink-table, plenty of room, headspace, a bath tub and separate shower bay which makes this one of the best and largest bathrooms I’ve seen.
Other trimmings in the room were up to par; TV set was large and carried a decent range of channels. Fridge was well-stocked and everything still looked new, from the furnishings to the walls. The view from my room on the 25th floor was fantastic; the majestic Petronas Twin Towers and surrounding city buildings, which was even more mesmerising at night. Internet was available via a network cable for notebook users, but a fee is chargeable upon access.
Dining: Great Taste, Good Variety and the Dessert is Outstanding
Prince has a few places to dine in, which includes one popular Japanese restaurant (Taishojin) and one classy Chinese restaurant (Tai Zi Heen). However, my dinner was in the Eccucino Brassiere, their main restaurant, which served a local and international buffet spread. The menu changes daily but tonight, I found the oysters freshly chilled, meats well-done and there was even avocado among the cold-cuts.
What I really liked most was the dessert; a nice variety of delicious cakes, tarts, biscuits and a chocolate ‘fountain’ for you to make fondue with fresh strawberries and marshmallows. Feasting on the fresh and decently-sized strawberries glazed with chocolate from the fountain was an awesome experience; the pastries were equally scrumptious. The only thing lacking was the ice cream, which was a little soft, but there were at least M&M chocolate toppings which made up for the shortcoming.
Facilities: Decent Range
The swimming pool on the 10th floor is averagely-sized but there’s an adjoining landscaped garden with deck-chairs that give you good sun-bathing and relaxation opportunities. The Mandara Spa is also located on this floor, and the treatment rooms are pleasant and well-manicured with windows that open to a scenic view of the city horizon. The Convention Halls and Meeting Rooms were also well-equipped and moderately spacious.

Location: A Peaceful Area that’s near Shopping Action
Prince hotel isn’t directly across to the coveted Suria KLCC Shopping Mall, but is instead a few minutes on foot from the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which houses the city’s only marine aquarium. A perambulation to the Suria KLCC mall will take you at least 10 minutes but if walking isn’t your thing, the hotel does provide shuttle services with spacious Mercedes vans at daily schedules. On the other hand, a short walk in the opposite direction will take you to the Genting Monorail Station, which brings you to other prime shopping areas such as Bukit Bintang in a jiffy through high-speed elevated trains
