Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur Review
Bukit Bintang - Kuala Lumpur
When it comes to exceptional service, nothing comes quite close to Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur. That’s what I remember most about them; their hospitality stays with me long after my stay with them. In fact, ask anyone who has ever stayed here before, and they’ll tell you the same thing – genuinely warm and friendly people who are always willing to help.
But Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur is not just about nice, pleasant people. Recently refurbished to the highest standards, the hotel is as much about good looks and good offerings as good service.
The Location
Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur is on Jalan Pudu, just around the corner from the hip Bukit Bintang and the bustling Chinatown. The famous hawker area, Jalan Alor, is also just a few steps away behind the hotel. Also within walking distance is the Hang Tuah Monorail station, as well as the Puduraya Bus/Coach Terminal, the city’s main bus hub.

The Rooms
Featuring 310 contemporary yet homely accommodation, Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur offers variety with its six room types: Deluxe, Executive Deluxe, Premier Executive Deluxe, Family Deluxe, Junior Suite and Executive Suite. At 50sqm, the Family Deluxe Room is delightfully spacious, with separate rooms, separate bathrooms and two flat-screen LCD televisions, allowing four people to share a room comfortably, without compromising on space and privacy. Special attention has been paid to details when it comes to décor of all its rooms, with warm earth tones and a modern design concept that combines simplicity with practicality.
The Deluxe Room that I stayed in is comfortable and cosy, with ample space and a view over Jalan Pudu, which wasn’t too bad. I like the fact that I can just leave my room at any time to take a short trip to either Bukit Bintang or Chinatown, due to the hotel’s close proximity to two of the city’s prime areas. My room comes with a flat-screen LCD television mounted on the wall opposite the bed, complete with satellite channels on which I can catch the latest world news. A safe deposit box ensures my valuables are kept safe while I’m away from my room. Certain room types, such as Junior Suite and Premier Executive Deluxe, include high-speed broadband access as complimentary, but for Deluxe Room, it is available for a nominal fee.
Hotel Facilities
Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur comes with a complete host of facilities for guests’ total convenience. Complimentary shuttle services are available to take you to the major points in the city, such as KLCC and KL Tower. Aside from the standard facilities available at most hotels, the hotel also comes with 24-hour security, limousine pick-up service, same-day laundry and dry-cleaning service, vegetarian cuisine option and a tour and car-hire desk in the lobby.
For those particular about not missing a fitness session, there’s a well-equipped gymnasium on the third floor. Just outside are a swimming pool and a sauna with separate male and female sections. For total wellbeing, there’s the Balinese-style Samsara Spa located on the same floor, with various treatment packages and professional therapists to soothe your troubles away.
The hotel’s chic and stylish E-Lounge on the 11th floor offers the ideal place to catch up on some work with both wired and wireless internet access, and PC-equipped workstations. Offering a highly-personalised service and all-day refreshments, guests of the Swiss-Privilege Floors can opt to have their breakfast and afternoon tea here. A flat-screen television is also available, enabling guests to keep abreast of current news. The E-Lounge Terrace just outside comes with a sprawling view of the city’s skyline, perfect for those who prefer to do their work outside in the fresh open air.
For corporate professionals and business executives, the hotel also has a fully-equipped Business Centre with secretarial services upon request, and over 500sqm of event and function space comprising a grand ballroom, six elegant function rooms and a spacious meeting room, all readily equipped with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment.
Food & Beverage
With four delightful food and beverage outlets, Swiss Garden Kuala Lumpur caters to every culinary need and preference. Located on the first floor, just a staircase away from the lobby, the newly-renovated Flavours Restaurant impresses not just with its exquisite offerings, but also with its stunning new looks. Offering all-day dining with a mixture of international and local flavours, the restaurant’s interior incorporates traditional elements into a stylish and contemporary design.
On the Lobby Level, flanking the reception area, are The Blue Chip Lounge and The Green Treats Eco Café. An elegant lounging area where you can enjoy good company and live entertainment over your favourite tipple, The Blue Chip Lounge is a private space ideal for chilling out in after a long day or enjoying a quiet drink with a friend of two. The Green Treats Eco Café offers a unique dining concept where healthy, wholesome food is the order of the day, with homemade breads, pure juices and nutritious desserts and snacks.
Located at the poolside, The Pool Bar provides a refreshing alternative to the hotel’s three indoor outlets. Serving a selection of beverages and snacks, the bar could also cater for evening barbeques and mini hi-teas.
