Relatively undeveloped, Rawang was once the capital of Gombak. Situated 25 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre, the town is best known as the home of forest reserves such as Templer's Park, Hutan Lipur Sungai Kanching and the Commonwealth Forest Park – all hotspots for jungle trekking and camping. The northern terminus for the Rawang-Seremban line of the KTM Komuter, the developing settlement is short on accommodation options for visitors – give the Chateau@Kuala Lumpur a try; the bed & breakfast is a sure-fire winner.
